Pros and Cons of using CreateSpace.com to Get on Amazon.com

My husband and I have self-published a 60 page booklet, The Evolution and Destruction of the Original Electoral College.  We are anxious of course to market it.  Are there compelling reasons not to publish it through CreateSpace.com so that it can be on Amazon.com and have immediate exposure?Even though it is only a booklet, we believe that the content is important to the American electorate and is of such a significant intellectual quality that our goal is to have it available in libraries,…See More

I don't know about libraries, but for sure it wouldn't be feasible to sell a pamphlet in retail environments (even online ones), for the reasons you describe.

You might consider gathering all your pamphlets into one book, with each one being a chapter, when they are all written. In the meantime, you can sell them directly, perhaps as PDFs that can be downloaded from your website to eliminate the cost of printing.

Yes, the document should be set up to the size you want the book.

54 pages will more than likely be saddle stitched, but this can vary with the printer. Even if it is perfect bound, the spine would be too small to contain any type.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Then SPAN is exactly the right place to learn. There's so much bad advice available online now. So-called "experts" teaching people how to produce horrible books and print them in ways that suck away almost all of their profits. Ask me or anyone else here all the questions you want. If we don't know the answer, we can probably direct you to someone who does.
