What organization can self-publishing children's authors look to much like mainstream authors do SCBWI?

I've been a member of SCBWI since the early 1990's. My books are self published under my own company. I have asked to have one of my books submitted for an award contests and was told, in not so many words, that I was not published in their view. Frankly, they have always held that view about self-publishers. This is not new, but with the changing times and self publishing coming into its own, self -pub children's authors need their own org if SCBWI is not going to change and support self-publisher. Sorry, I JUST had to rant!!!!!
