What kind of blog for books?
What kind of blog do you think works best for promoting a book? Or, what are the relative merits of different kinds of blogs for a book? Should I consider a blog on the book itself, a blog about me as the author, a blog about the topic of the book, some other angle, or several approaches? What has worked best for you?

We have a blog off our website that is on the topic of our book. We have books fro Military Kids,and since we are ourselves a Military Family, I write on different aspects of that. Sometimes it gets away from the topic, so I am wondering if more than one blog is a good idea, or it I need to learn to be more focused. I am looking forward to hearing what others are doing with this!

I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that multiple blogs, on different servers, with different tags, give you more of a chance to be found by the search engines. Just be sure your book, and your other blog addresses, are visible on each of your blogs. I don't think going "off topic" on your main blog site is that important as long as most of the blog content is "on topic" and your tags are accurate.
