TheBookDesigner.com -- Joel Friedlander, SPANnet member. Really good stuff.

PublishingBasics.com -- Huge archive of how-to articles for makers of books.
The Writing Life -- Terry Whalin, author of 60 books, literary agent, marketer.

Adding Visual to Verbal--Your Favorite Image Sites? 1 Reply

I grew up in a verbal generation. As a blogger, I'm tempted to think it's all about words. But this is a visual generation. I have had to re-train myself to not neglect the importance of image.   Wor…

Hi Everyone,
I am a new member who is desirous of growing and sharing.
I have a featured group on Cambridge Who's Who entitled, "The Pen Is Mightier Than the Sword" which consists of over 100 members in the literary field. I hope to be able to share learnings with them while inviting them to join SPANnet with its many advantages.
Please invite me to be a friend.

Brad, thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it. I'm also a fan of Clay's and hope I can bring some value to the Books & Blogs discussion--two of my favorite subjects!

Clay,
I’m sorry for this delayed response, as I have respected the quality work you’ve done for SPAN as the Books and Blog Group Moderator.

I hope you’ll forgive the tardiness of this recognition and accept SPAN’s sincere thanks in helping lift our social network off the ground; for offering insightful educational commentary regarding the importance of blogging in a marketing plan; and laboring to inspire quality discussion among SPAN’s membership.

Lastly, thank you for passing the torch to the prolific Joel Friedlander. I have followed Joel’s outstanding work in this industry and look forward to his insightful leadership here on SPANnet.

Please know that the SPAN organization holds you both in high regard, and that we are employing all our efforts to grow this organization’s influence for the benefit of all of our stakeholders.

Respectfully,

Brad Poulson

Thanks Clay! I've really enjoyed the conversations here on Books & Blogs, and admired the way your quietly encouraged people to participate. I'll set that as my model, too.

As you know, I'm an avid blogger, and what I blog about is books, design, self-publishing, ebooks, the digital transition, the nuts and bolts of putting books together, and the indie publishing life.

I hope to meet more of the members here going forward, and thanks for the welcome!

Important Announcement!

Books & Blogs Has a New SGA!

What's an SGA? It's a SPANnet Group Administrator, and Books & Blogs is about to get a really good new one. I'm retiring, and turning over the reins of B&B to the capable hands of SPANnetter Joel Friedlander.

Joel is an accomplished graphic designer, and the owner-proprietor of my new favorite blog for self-publishers, TheBookDesigner.com (go there if you haven't yet). Joel knows books, and he knows blogs, so I thought it was a perfect fit and was stoked when he agreed to become the new Books & Blogs SGA.

I started this group at the genesis of SPANnet, and I have been so pleased (and pleasantly surprised) for all of you who have joined B&B and participated. I will still be around the group, but I'm looking forward to being a participant under Joel's administrative leadership. I hope you will welcome him with your posts and participation. Thanks, Joel!
