Quality paperback —former name for “trade paperback,” the larger paperback (5" x 8" to 7" x 10").

Query letter —a one- or two-page letter created to interest an editor or agent in a book project or magazine article. Displays the author’s writing ability and is meant to sell an idea. Also known as a “query.”

Quote —a statement, often from a celebrity or key reviewer, used in advertising or for book cover copy. Also, an exact copy of original wording from another source reproduced in one’s own writing, enclosed in quotation marks. Also, an offer to do work for a specific sum, as in a price quote.
